Porada Design Group is a newly established interior design firm with a broad base of expertise in the planning, design and execution of hospitality interiors. A collaboration of principals, Vicki Pearson, Leanne Ritter and David Chang, our design team maintains the highest standards in regards to budget constraints, project schedules and exceptional service.
With an emphasis on client relationships, it is our goal to provide our clients with effectively planned and highly functional spaces while creating exciting interior environments that exceed their design expectations.
Leanne Ritter, BID, Principal | Leanne holds a Bachelor degree from the University of Manitoba and has been practicing professionally for 20 years. Leanne’s commercial project experience has ranged from large public spaces to 100 room hotels, with a focus on boutique hotels and restaurant design. Her design work and strong client relationships has set high standards for the firm providing the personalized service and attention to detail needed to produce interior packages for unique urban and resort locations. In addition to work throughout Western Canada, international experience includes work in Singapore, Europe and Mexico.
Vicki Pearson, ADID, Principal | Vicki provides 26 years of professional interior design experience, specifically related to large hospitality projects focusing on the properties' extensive public and food & beverage facilities as well as guest room, recreational and administration areas. Upon graduation from Kwantlen College in 1983, Vicki worked with Coordinated Hotel Interiors in Vancouver for 10 years, becoming the senior designer in charge of all phases of design with a strong emphasis on cost control, facility management planning and FF&E budgets. Recent work includes setting up a 10 person interior design office in Guangzhou, China for DK International Design + Management while working with some of China's largest developers.
David Chang, BID, RID, Principal | David Chang, R.I.D. has over 16 years of experience in commercial and residential interior design and management experience in Canada and Asia. Born in Taiwan and educated in the US and Canada, he graduated from California State University in 1991 with a Bachelor of Interior Architecture. A design director in some of Vancouver’s leading design firms until 2001, David received several awards for his innovative design work. Relocating to China 5 years ago, David oversees the interior design and production teams in the Beijing and Guangzhou offices. Some of his most recent work includes a 10,000 square meter clubhouse in Guangzhou with extensive hospitality and fitness facilities as well as 2 new apartment buildings. Fluent in English, Mandarin, Cantonese and Taiwanese with a basic knowledge of Japanese, David’s expertise bridges European and Asian culture and design.
Lois Klingbeil, RID, IDC, Senior Designer | Lois brings 22 years of professional interior design practice to the Porada Design Group team. Since graduating from Kwantlen College in 1986, her primary focus has been hospitality design complemented by a strong background in the multi-unit residential field. As project designer with several of the leading design firms in Vancouver, her work has included both urban and resort hotels, spas, private clubs, first class airline lounges, and luxury condominium towers in Canada and the United States. Several projects have been recognized with design awards and magazine publication. Lois provides strong conceptual design and detailing skills along with the knowledge and experience to administer a project through all phases to occupancy. In keeping with the Porada philosophy, she believes that successful project execution should address the full range of client priorities: outstanding design dovetailed with conscientious attention to budget and schedule. Prior to joining Porada, her most recent projects include two luxury condominium towers in the Coal Harbour area of Vancouver, as well as several projects in Honolulu, HI: a 400-unit luxury condominium tower, a 20,000 sq. ft. spa, and the full renovation of an 1,100 room hotel.
